Rudolf Christian Charles Dizel was born in Paris on March, 18th, 1858 in a family of German emigrants. The father, the usual bookbinder, tried to support a family as could. Living in France, the family of German emigrants did not differ at all from other same families, trying to make ends meet. Small Rudolf was the usual boy who differed nothing from the friends to Frenchmen. The usual routine life proceeded till 1870 when Ex-Prussian war has begun.

So in 13 years still absolutely young Rudolf has begun an independent adult life. Having appeared without support of parents, he quickly becomes independent, obstinate and resolute. He is pedantic and scrupulous. Gradually at him the true German diligence and endurance is developed. The diesel engine quickly becomes the best pupil in real school in Augsburg, and then and at polytechnical school. His dazzling successes in study did not remain not noticed. To Augsburg there comes the head of Munich higher polytechnical school known for the whole world. Amazed with knowledge and erudition of the pupil of a graduation class of Rudolf Dizelja, he immediately invites him to continue training at the school.
In 1878 one of Karl’s lectures a background to Linda, devoted to a thermodynamic cycle great Sit down Karno, became defining in Rudolf’s life. Still then he has noted on fields of the writing-book: « To study possibility of application of an isotherm in practice ». Next 10 years the Diesel engine works over creation of essentially new design of the engine. Already then he was come to mind by idea of ignition of a gas mixture in the chamber without a spark. The engine working on ammonia was the first copy, – as fuel the special dust received from coal was used. However this design did not give EFFICIENCY above 10-12 % which are given out by a usual steam-engine. Work was it is continued.
