Soichiro Honda well-known the Honda Technical Research Institute in Hamamatsu, Japan in October 1946, to develop and produce little two-cycle motorbike engines. 2-years later Honda Motor Company, Ltd. was born, and in 1959 Honda Company opened it is primary storefront in Los Angeles with 6 industrious employees.

Honda has been the world’s biggest motorcycle manufacturer since 1959, as well as the worldwide largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines calculated by volume, producing more than fourteen million internal combustion engines every year. Honda Group became the 2nd-biggest Japanese automobile manufacturer in 2001. Honda Company was the first Japanese automobile to release a dedicated luxury vehicle division brand, Acura, in 1986. They have too ventured into aerospace with establishment of GE Honda GE Honda (Aero Engines LLC) Aero Engines in 2004 and Honda HA-420 HondaJet (First flight 3 December 2003), which began production in 2012. The Honda has 3-joint ventures in China (Honda Automobile (China) Company, Dongfeng Honda, and Guangqi Honda).
In 2013, The Honda Company invested about 5.7% of its revenues in research and development. Also in 2013, The Honda became the 1st Japanese automaker to be a net exporter from the U.S (United States). The exporting 108,705 Honda and Acura models while the importing only 88,357.
