Lexus (The Pursuit of Perfection / Amazing in Motion) is the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation. First opening in 1989 in the United States of America, the Lexus is now sold internationally and has become Japan’s biggest-selling make of premium cars. The Lexus marquee is selling in over 70 countries and territories globally and has ranked among the 10-largest Japanese worldwide brands in market value. The Lexus is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan. The Operational centers are located in Brussels, Belgium and Torrance, California, USA (United States).
The Lexus originated from a clandestine flagship sedan plan, code named F1 that began in 1983 and culminated in the launch of the original Lexus LS in 1989. Afterward, the division added sedan, SUV, convertible, and coupé models. Until 2005 the Lexus did not exist as a Company in it is home market and all vehicles marketed globally as the Lexus from 1989-2005 were released in Japan under Toyota marque and an equivalent model name. In 2005, a hybrid version of the RX crossover debuted, and additional hybrid models later connected the division’s listings. In 2007, the Lexus launched its own F marquee performance division with the debut of ISF sport sedan, followed by the LFA super car in 2009.
From the start of production, the Lexus vehicles have been produced in Nagoya Japan, with manufacturing centered in Chūbu and Kyūshū (East Asia,japan) regions, and in particular at Toyota’s Tahara plant (January 1979), Aichi (Aichi Prefecture), Chūbu and Miyata, Fukuoka (2006), Kyūshū plants. Meeting of the first Lexus built outside the state, the Ontario, Canada–produced RX 330, began in 2003. Next a corporate reorganization from 2001 to 2005, the Lexus also operates it is own design, engineering, and manufacturing centers, solely responsible for the division’s vehicles.
Since the 2000s, the Lexus has increased sales outside its largest market, the United States, through an ongoing worldwide expansion. The division inaugurated dealerships in Japan’s domestic market (JDM, also “Japanese domestic model”) in 2005; becoming first Japanese premium car marquee to launch in it is country of origin. The Further debuts in Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and other export regions have since followed. The division’s listings have also been expanded to reflect regional specifications in model and power train configurations.
