Maserati is an Italian luxury car manufacturer established on 1 December, 1914, in Bologna (Italy). Since then, the Maserati has played a consistently important role in history of the sports car culture and it is development. The Maserati tagline is “sports, Luxury and style cast in exclusive cars”, and the brand’s mission announcement is to “Build Ultra-Luxury Performance the Automobiles with Timeless the Italian Style, helpful Bespoke Interiors, and Effortless, the Signature Sounding Power”.
The group’s headquarters are now in Modena (Italy) and it is emblem is a trident. It has been owned by Italian car giant Fiat (SpA) since 1993. The Maserati was initially associated with the Ferrari S.p.A. which is also owned by the Fiat but more currently it has become part of the sports car group including the Alfa Romeo and Abarth. In May 2014, due to ambitious policy and product launches, the Maserati sold a record of over 3,000 cars. This caused them to add to production of the Quattroporte and the Ghibli models. In adding to the Ghibli and the Quattroporte, the Maserati offers the Maserati Gran Turismo, the Gran Turismo Convertible and has confirmed that it will be offering the Maserati Levante, the primary Maserati SUV, in 2015, and the Maserati Alfieri, a new 2+2 in 2016. Maserati is placing a production output cap at 75,000 vehicles worldwide.
